Design Dive
In a team meeting with Chrisfcrypto.ethš“#3896 and Reinis#8935, we got the idea to take a detour from our usual newsletter route. For this one, we interviewed Vibrantty - one of the many web3 designers that reside in the DAO.Ā
Whatās your Discord handle?
Vibrantty#4886
What keeps you designing?
Accumulating experience and seeing my skill set evolve. It helps to create higher quality work with more efficiency. The more I practice, the better I become.
How did you decide to design in web3?
I saw that the community is always open to contributors and ready to grow. These were the aspects that got me hooked and Iāve been here since.
What do you think designing for web3 compared to traditional markets means?
Web3 design to me is more advanced in terms of visualisation and problem solving using different tools. Tools used in traditional markets donāt necessarily have to be advanced. Little to no tools are required for the traditional market.
What projects have you been involved in within the DAO?
I came up with the weekly ādid you knowā design. Also contributed for the design guildsā social media and constitution design. One logo I did was for the GMI Hot Tub marketing index from the marketing guild.
How do you conceptualise your projects?
I make sure the route Iām taking isnāt too abstract, meanwhile maintaining relation to what Iām trying to visualise.Ā
What is your end goal?
Being able to pass out a message and communicate with people through designs and visuals.
Where do you specialise in design?
Brand Identity and Social Media designs
What gets you intrigued about brand and social media design?
I always ask the purpose of the design. Is it meant to educate people about a particular brand or is it solely for attracting traffic and engagement on social media pages? Or maybe yet - is it meant for both?
What specifies those two types of design in your eyes?
Educational designs are always very simple, cause you donāt have to beat around the bush with layers. Just go straight to the point either with illustration or wordings, or both.
Traffic and engagement designs have to look clean too, but much more attractive, considering you need something people can pay attention to, such as the brand being talked about or getting promoted.
The ādid you knowā designs are educational, thatās why I keep them cool and simple.
What gets you inspired?
I get inspirations literally from everywhere hahaha.. but most of my inspirations come from visuals and how people relate in the real world.
SHOWCASE
This one was inspired by web3. I looked in-depth into the definition and broke it down to a couple things in my sketchpad. I saw crypto is associated with Web3, so the ethereum chain there represents that, considering that most conversions and exchanges use smart contracts.
The little piggy stands for NFTs. The goggles on the eyes represent the metaverse and the little box is a DAO. Youāll notice theyāre all on a surface which represents the DAOs, the Metaverse and other web3 projects being all on web3. Basically that's the concept for the design - DAOs and Web3.
Right, so you enjoy paying attention to the smaller things?
Yeah, I pay attention to detail in all of my work, be it a complex design or a lightweight one.
Alright, have a good one bro
And you too, happy DAOing š
