Dearest Writers and Editors,
This is the final Scribe’s Quill of Season 2. Some of you were heads down, working incessantly in the DAO to make Season 2 a success. Some of you popped in here and there where you could but weren’t swept away in the DAO current. However, big or small, all contribution matters. It is the effort of the collective that drives this ship forward. And it is this effort, this drive, that moves us deeper into unfamiliar waters. Deeper into the unknown. But also, deeper into what we’re coming to understand and love. If not for this effort, this ship would have stalled long ago. Rather, we’re claiming the frontier, and we continue to move forward.
Welcome to The Scribe’s Quill.

The Newsletter Team is going to be a lot more robust as we head into Season 3! I would like to congratulate EthHunter, hirokennelly.eth, and Jake and Stake on their new project roles. Each of them has been instrumental in building up the newsletter team of writers and editors and in continuing to improve the quality and content of our newsletters. We have a lot of innovative ideas and changes planned for Season 3, and I look forward to working with this team as we continue to explore what a decentralized media empire looks like.

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a restful holiday season. Next week is back to normal once again. Elections for this position are underway, so be sure to cast your vote in #writers-polls.
And congratulations to new editors Hackr and Teeleeroo!
Since Season 3 is not far away, I’ll take this space to thank everyone in the guild for an amazing Season 2. Thanks for sticking with me as I figured out this new role and did lots of trial and error. If I onboarded you this season, EXTRA thank you for sticking around this guild, taking the required tests, and being patient as you waded through all the information necessary to learn about the WG. Putting my energy toward our decentralized publishing house feels like the right next move for me, but it doesn’t mean I won’t miss talent scouting. This is a special role because you get to know every single person who joins our guild (and a lot of people who drift elsewhere in the DAO), have lots of fun conversations in DMs and office hours, and help people get their feet on the ground in this crazy DAO life we lead. To the next talent scout of S3, don’t forget how important this role is for building a strong guild and a stronger DAO.
See you from the EPA side soon!

As a member of the Writers Guild, you are witnessing the result of three seasons worth of work. In Season 0, we went from nothing to the advent of the Writers Guild. In Season 1, the Writers Guild spawned the Newsletter Team—though at the time it was naught more than a coalition of writers and editors—and the germs of the seed of the EPA. In Season 2, the Writers Guild gave birth to both the Newsletter Team and the EPA—the former coming to mature early, the latter coming to bear later. And as the EPA came to fruition, the groundwork was laid for Client Services. As we come to the close of Season 2, we see already that all of these projects have developed and matured to the point where they stand on their own.
Nay, they have risen above their meager beginnings and serve to represent the Guild in their respective venues. The wellbeing and maturity of these projects reflects the work and efficacy of every member in the Guild. Each of you who work alongside one another to create the content and manage its quality in each avenue of distribution works, not just for the success of our newsletters and publishing platforms, but for the success of the Guild as extension. Every little bit of effort in every avenue counts.
As the saying goes: little by little, a little becomes a lot. And we are each doing little bits, and every little bit has added up to the current success of the Guild.
Whatever your level of involvement, do not, by any means, underestimate the value you bring to the Guild. For while it was by herculean effort that the Guild was built and survived in Season 0, it is by the many little bits of effort that the Guild continues to build and grow.
Herculean effort still exists, and for those who contribute at this level, we are grateful. But grateful too should we be for those who’s level of effort is small by comparison, because this effort adds to the larger effort in continuing to push forward our total effort. In sum we are greater than the few.
In the Writers Guild, three plus one equals ten.
And so, in bringing Season 2 to a close, I want you to deeply understand this one thing: your effort, at whatever level it lies, is meaningful. You bring value to the Guild. And as such, you bring value to the DAO.
Thank you for showing up. Thank for choosing to spend your time here. Thank you for contributing your energy to the Guild. You are valued. And you are appreciated.
Let’s bring this effort well into Season 3, and together, we’ll not only fly, but we shall make this bird sing.
In service to you, the Guild, and the DAO,
