Dearest Pupils, Scribblers, and Scribes,
There’s a lot of great content being shared in this edition, namely from Siddhearta, Samantha, and Jake and Stake. The Newsletter and EPA teams continue to rock, and Samantha drops some alpha on the upcoming Editors Circle Mentorship program. Also of note is the implementation of the Good Morning News (GMN) and Writers Guild collaboration, which I describe below. Peruse at your leisure, catch up on all that’s happening and in the works, and don’t miss a word.

Thank you! We had a few submissions for editorials last week and brainstormed a lot of new topics on the Backlog. As always, if you have a topic that you would like to write about, add it to the backlog or contact Jake and Stake about next steps.

Applications for editing mentorships are LIVE! We have a brief editing assessment so mentors can assess your skills. Our editors have the bandwidth to take on roughly two to four mentees total. Here’s what you have to do:
Copy and paste this document into a new document titled “[YOUR DISCORD HANDLE] + Editing Mentorship”
Make content and copy edits as suggestions and comments in the margins. Do not edit the document directly. The suggestions and comments are how we evaluate your work.
Make your suggestions/comments as if you were speaking to the author directly. Make a combination of big-picture content edits as well as small-scale copy edits.
Send the completed link to me, and we’ll be in contact with next steps very soon!
Excited to see your submissions!
To our published writers, if you have the bandwidth, I highly recommend checking your Medium Read and View statistics and taking a moment to do a little marketing for your piece. If you’d like more in-depth advice, try stopping by the Marketing Guild channels and seeing who can offer some tips. But here are a few fast ways I use to increase viewership and get a little SEO goodness up in here:
Post a link on a social media platform outside of Twitter (Instagram, Reddit, Facebook, personal newsletter if you have one). This will help get views from people who wouldn’t normally see your piece, and will wake up the Medium algorithm to start organically displaying the article to new people outside our normal Twitter reach. And hey, maybe you’ll get a couple new people into crypto!
Add a link to your LinkedIn carousel. I know, I know, LinkedIn is seriously the worst of Web2. But if you’re a doxxed normie like me, you still need LinkedIn for work. I recommend adding a link on your carousel—this means its evergreen, and anyone checking out your profile will see it and be enticed to click it. Below is a photo of what the carousel/featured section looks like when you add links, it’s actually quite nice!
Email or text the link to friends and family. Another algorithm-boosting trick, this will show Medium that new people are reading it, and therefore Medium will start displaying it to a wider audience. And it’s a great way to share your hard work with people outside of our Discord and Twitter circle!
Add a link to a personal website, portfolio, newsletter, or anywhere else you have a presence on the internet. Medium is all about pumping out new content. That’s why evergreen links on different platforms can be so useful to us! This link will also boost the SEO of the Medium page.
That’s all, best of luck to new mentees and have fun marketing your work, writers!
—Sam

In case you've missed it, the Multi-sig signer election is now over! Samanthaj has withdrawn her candidacy, so Cheetah has won the election!
Thank you to theconfusedcoin and Samanthaj for your contributions to the Writers Guild!
And congratulations to Cheetah for being elected as the Writers Guild's newest multi-sig signer! The metaphorical keys have been handed to you, and we thank you for keeping a watchful eye on the treasury.

Two weeks ago, we ratified the collaboration proposal between the Guild and Good Morning News. This week, we have opened discussions on its implementation. For the remainder of the Season, members from both Good Morning News and the Guild will be working to find the best way to integrate our two teams in a way that honors the proposal we have adopted, aligns with the goals we each are working towards, and maximizes the value we can create in both content and personnel development. This will set us up for a strong start to Season 4, and will be a huge win for both organizations, as we stand to gain much from each other.
If you are interested in joining the conversation and have the bandwidth to assist in this rollout, please contact myself, Hirokennelly.eth, or Publisher via DM, and we’ll be happy to get you plugged in. Ultimately, when the implementation is complete, we’ll all be plugged in anyway.
This is one step toward a larger initiative to bring greater interoperability between the Guild, other bDAO guilds, bDAO projects, and protocols closely aligned with bDAO. The foundation is being laid for a stronger, more unified DAO, and it’s starting with the Writers Guild.
We have much to look forward to.
In service to you, the Guild, and the DAO,
