Dearest Pupils, Scribblers, and Scribes,
By now, many of you know the big topic at hand: SubDAO. If you’ve been active in the DAO for the past few days, you’ll have heard this word often enough to the point where you may be sick of it.
That’s fine. I recommend you grab some water and your favorite meds to combat upset stomach and be prepared to hear it ad nauseam, still. Until someone figures it out, this word will continue to take center stage.
However, at least for the rest of this letter, you can relax in knowing the word won’t pop up again. Probably. Some quick updates are included from your team leads and coordination layer. So grab your favorite reading beverage and enjoy this leaner edition.
Welcome to The Scribe’s Quill.

Team Updates
Newsletter Team, siddhearta | Coordinator
The Newsletter Team is looking for editorials for both the Weekly Rollup and State of the DAOs. If you have a topic you are interested in writing add it to the backlog!
Also, join us this week in the Newsletter Team Sync on Thursday at 9am PST as we will be discussing potential changes to our writer bounty and role structure. We have a couple ideas that we want to discuss about contributor onboarding and increasing the level of engagement with our writers. Join in and share your vision on how we can continue to improve our process!
EPA, Samanthaj | Coordinator
The Editors Circle will be opening up to mentees very soon! Hiro and Trewkat will be taking the reigns on writing a scratch article for mentees to practice editing. If you’re interested in becoming a mentee, keep an eye on the EPA channels for an editing test coming soon!
Lastly, March for Words is still in full swing. Keep writing, everyone!

“How can we help you?”
CS continues to expand, currently we’re finishing articles for MakerDAO, Tally.Cash, and CitaDAO. We recently completed a wonderful piece for Yearn.Finance, to which the client replied, “this is fantastic!” As well as great piece for CitaDAO about turning the real-estate market into 24/7 on-chain liquidity.

Client Services continues to support BanklessDAO’s mission to enhance the educational onboarding ramps to Web3. If you would like to reach out to connect with us, feel free to drop into our Telegram Group, and let us know what you’re looking for!

A key development I can report on is the creation of the new writing test. The purpose of this is to better evaluate the skills required for newsletter-related tasks.
If you would like to open up all the opportunities available within the Writers Guild, I recommend doing the writing test, which you can find here.
I’m now in the process of creating a welcome pack, which will provide new members with all the essentials. I’m aiming to finish this by next week.
Also, I just want to thank everyone who voted for me in the L2 nomination. I was blown away by the number of votes received, and it's really encouraging knowing that many of us are willing to support each other. I'm grateful to be a part of the BanklessDAO community — up only!

In the last edition, I wrote,
And what lies on the horizon?, you may ask. That is an excellent question. It is up to you and I to decide. But it’s going to take work.
So let’s do the work.
We want to produce an organization that best supports every contributor in how we all want to be supported. For some, it’s a fun work environment. For others, it’s the quality of the work involved. And for others, it’s an opportunity to increase their wellbeing. There are many reasons why anyone would want to come to work in the Writers Guild, and we want to uncover every single one. In doing so, we’ll use these reasons as the foundation on which we continue to build.
But we need everyone involved to make this happen. We need you.
This work requires every single member to contribute, so that no member is left behind. Including you. Write down your thoughts and present them in council or in channel or thread. We work alongside such incredible people: if you’re present and contributing, your comment in chat or channel will be addressed. Whole manifestos have been written via ideas being casually thrown around our channels. Edits to the Governance and Editing Frameworks have come about from honest suggestions. Proposals have been ratified, and others are currently being written, because someone decided to step forward and just go for it.
Your voice matters. Your vote matters. Make it known.
In service to you, the Guild, and the DAO,
nonsense 🏴
